CCE's First Community Action Day at Sweetwater

Sweetwater Community Garden · San Diego, California

Growing food. Growing leaders. Growing community.

CCE officially launched its community action work by joining forces with Sweetwater Community Garden for a hands-on volunteer day. Youth, families, and community members worked together to clear the plot, remove weeds, prepare the soil, learn from experienced gardeners, and build the foundation for future food-growing and educational projects.

This first event represented what CCE is about: bringing generations together, turning service into action, and creating spaces where food, knowledge, leadership, and community can grow side by side.

The vegetables already thriving at Sweetwater showed the young volunteers what patient care, shared knowledge, and consistent work can produce.
